Improvement and Transformation in the Regulation of Killer Acquisitions of Large Internet Platforms
The growth and development of Internet platforms have attracted the attention of antitrust enforcement agencies around the world because of their monopolization issues.Although the revision of the Antimonopoly Law has responded to some of the public concerns about monopoly in the digital economy, the pre-declaration standards cannot meet the needs of large internet platform, and the substantive review system has fallen into failure under the new economic business fields, resulting in a large number of cases of mergers and acquisitions of star-tups by large platform enterprises escaping antitrust review for a long time.To this end,the killer acquisitions can be comprehensively regulated by fixing the shortcomings of the declaration standard, improving the definition of relevant markets, reshaping the assessment of anticompetitive effects, giving priority to the application of behavioral restriction conditions and building a long-term regulatory mechanism.
