The Application of Nuclear-free Density Test Technology in the Rolling Quality of SMA-10 Wear Layer
SMA-10 pavement has a good skeleton embedded structure and sufficient mortar filling. It has excellent anti-rutting,anti-water damage and anti-sliding durability. It is increasingly used as the paving of highway wear layer and maintenance cover layer. However,in the rolling process, excessive rolling is prone to cause surface gravel to be crushed and the oil film to fall off, which not only affects the anti-skid performance, but also easily causes external water intrusion to cause surface water damage. In order to improve the construction quality of SMA-10 asphalt mixture, based on the Maozhan high-speed project in the western Guangdong area of Guangdong Province, the non-nuclear densitometer was used to carry out experimental research on the rolling process. The results show that the main factors affecting the peak compaction degree of SMA-10 mixture are the number of rolling passes and the temperature of the mixture. The design compaction degree can be reached by rolling 6 times(static pressure 2.5 times+vibration rolling 3.5 times)at normal temperature, and the number of vibration rolling times needs to be increased at low temperature. As the number of rolling passes increases, the degree of compaction increases first and then flattens out,and the subsequent angular damage is obvious;it is suggested that the insulation measures of each link should be strictly done for SMA-10 mixture.According to the design of SMA-10 mixture in different projects, the compaction curve is obtained by using the non-nuclear density meter, which is used as the control method of SMA-10 mixture precision rolling.
