The Quantitative Characteristics of Garden Elements in the Kaiyuan Temple of Quanzhou
The Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou as a world cultural heritage site,is a typical example of temple gardens in southern Fujian and it is an important carrier for adhering to the development of regional characteristic gardens.Through on-site measurement and statistical analysis of the garden elements of Kaiyuan Temple in Quanzhou,the quantitative characteristics of its landscaping elements are explored.The results indicate that religious worship by believers and public sightseeing are the two most important functions of temples.There is a 1° deviation in the architectural layout of the north-south axis of the temple,and the visual distance of important scenic spots within the temple is controlled within 120 meters.The south platform of the the Shakya ManiHall is the most important scenic spot in the temple,and the surrounding main architectural attractions are arranged within its horizontal angle of view 30° and vertical angle of view 60°.
