The development of regional higher education has a significant impact on regional economic development and narrowing the gap in education quality between regions.Based on the current era background of China,the connotation and significance of regional higher education equity is explored,the current development status of regional higher education equity in China in the new era is analyzed,the phenomenon of uneven fairness in the starting point,process,and outcome of regional higher education equity development is summarized,and a layered inspection of the problems and the reasons behind them is analyzed.And on this basis,relevant economic,policy and institutional,resource allocation and other suggestions are proposed to effectively alleviate regional inequality and improve the quality of regional higher education.
