Impact of Digital Economy on Regional Innovation in Urban Agglomeration:Empirical Analysis Based on Ten National Level Urban Agglomerations
The digital economy provides new opportunities for the coordinated development of urban agglomerations.Based on the panel data of ten national urban agglomerations from 2011 to 2019,the impact and mechanism of digital economy on the regional innovation capacity of urban agglomerations are examined. The research conclusions are as follows:The development of digital economy can improve the regional knowledge absorption capacity, thereby promoting the improvement of regional innovation capacity in urban agglomerations, but there is regional heterogeneity, with the most significant promoting effect on the central region. The effects of various dimensions of digital economy indicators on the innovation capacity of urban agglomerations in different regions are different. For the eastern region with strong innovation capabilities, emphasis should be placed on improving the overall level of digital infrastructure construction, improving policy targeting, and capital investment. The central region should continue to strengthen its attention and capital investment in the dimension of digital literacy, and reasonably allocate educational resources to alleviate the problem of imbalanced distribution of higher education resources. The western region should focus on the role of basic digital elements in enhancing innovation capabilities, improving digital infrastructure construction, improving the quality of higher education resources, and providing more human capital for the development of the digital economy and the implementation of innovation activities.
