Optimization and Application of Drill Bits for Difficult Drilling Formation in the Jingyan-Qianwei Area
The Jingyan-Qianwei structure is located in the southwestern part of the Tieshan-Weiyuan dome belt structure in the southwestern Sichuan Basin. The drillability of Douposi,Longwangmiao, and Canglangpu formations is relatively high,Eight wells have been drilled, and there is a common problem of long drilling cycles and low penetration rate. The outcrop collection was conducted on difficult drilling formation, and rock mechanics analysis was conducted on the outcrop. It is considered that the lack of a clear understanding of the drilling resistance characteristics of the formation in this area and the lack of a strong pertinence in the selection of drill bits are the main factors leading to the low rate of penetration(ROP).According to the main problems of drilling speed increase in this block, the anti-drilling characteristics of difficult drilling formation are evaluated quantitatively, and the technical scheme of drilling speed increase optimization is put forward, such as selectting 6 blade polycrystalline diamond compact bit with large torque and other wall thick screw, strengthening drilling parameters, improving rock breaking efficiency in the second hole. The preferred hybrid bit utilizes the impact of the cone teeth and the shear action of the polycrystalline diamond compact teeth to improve the directional efficiency in difficult formations in the third hole.According to the above scheme,JS 103-4 HF well improves the average ROP by 75%,and the drilling cycle is shortened by 50.6%compared with the same period last year. The acceleration effect is significant, which is of great significance to accelerate the process of oil and gas exploration and development in this block.
