Status and Improvements of Pharmaceutical Care in County-level Hospitals in Jiangsu Province
In order to investigate the current situation of pharmaceutical care practice in county-level hospitals in Jiangsu Province,and promote high-quality development of pharmaceutical care,through online distribution of questionnaires and face-to-face interviews for selected hospitals,the form and content of pharmaceutical care in county-level hospitals in Jiangsu Province were investigated and analyzed statistically.It is found that the five items of basic pharmaceutical care in county-level hospitals in Jiangsu Province,including prescription review,drug dispensation,prescription comment,medication consultation,and health education,were well developed,and almost all hospitals had implemented them or complied with relevant national standards;as for clinical pharmacist consultation and pharmacological monitoring,there was a big gap between secondary hospital and tertiary hospital.Among extended pharmaceutical care items,the four items including medication reconciliation(36.1%),medication follow-up(44.4%),personalized medicine(58.3%)and pharmacist-managed clinic(30.6%),were better developed than home pharmaceutical care(16.7%),which had the lowest development rate.The overall development of basic pharmaceutical care in county-level hospitals in Jiangsu Province is relatively better,while extended pharmaceutical care is still being explored and developed.It remains to be enhanced in terms of shifting the focus of pharmacists to clinical work,as well as the pharmacy staff,related systems and hardware equipment.
