Discussion and Application of SMA-10 Mix Proportion Design Optimization
For highways with high bridge-tunnel ratio,due to the limitation of bridge dead load and tunnel elevation,the overlay scheme gradually develops to high-performance asphalt wear layer.SMA-10 with smaller nominal particle size not only has the excellent high temperature stability,durability and low temperature crack resistance of SMA-13 pavement,but also can reduce the thickness of the wear layer to a certain extent and reduce the consumption of high-quality aggregate and energy.However,SMA-10 is less used in Guangdong area,and the construction experience is insufficient.Through the optimization design of the mix ratio,the applicability of different regions was recommended,taking into account the balance between construction uniformity and road surface skid resistance.
