Recent Progress of the Solar Wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(SMILE)Mission

The SMILE(Solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer)mission is a joint space science mission between the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)and the European Space Agency(ESA),aiming to un-derstand the interaction of the solar wind with the Earth's magnetosphere in a global manner.As of May 2024,the SMILE mission is in phase-D with an expected launch date of September 2025.This report summarizes develop-ments in the mission during the past two years.
