A method for real-time calibration of airborne radar system errors based on AIS data
In maritime surveillance, airborne radar systems often suffer from inaccurate target positioning due to system errors, which affects navigational safety and management efficiency. In view of the problem, this paper proposes a real-time automatic calibration method for airborne radar system errors combined with Automatic Iden-tification System(AIS)data. In the proposed method,AIS targets and radar-detected targets are matched through spatiotemporal alignment and data association algorithms to establish the corresponding relationship. Then, the AIS data is used as a benchmark, and the convergence condition control of multidimensional feature error thresh-olds is employed to realize the real-time correction for the track data errors of radar-detected targets.Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The test design and verification analysis conducted with the field-collected AIS data and radar data demonstrate that this method can effectively detect and correct system errors automatically.
