Generative Artificial Intelligence Reading Promotion and Information Cocoon for Reader Thinking
Generative artificial intelligence technology has brought convenience to reading promotion of libraries, but its potential risk of information cocoon has been overlooked by the academic community in the past.Based on the working principle of generative artificial intelligence, this paper explores the reasons why libraries generate information cocoons during the reading promotion process using generative artificial intelligence, analyzes its manifestations, explains its harm, and finally proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. The study found that the reason for the emer-gence of information cocoons is the iterative process of algorithms based on user behavior feedback, which continuously strengthens the existing cognitive patterns of users, thus creating an information"echo room".There are three forms of ex-pression,namely homogenized information bubbles, machine cognitive resonance, and personalized over customization, which will explain risks such as fixed thinking, community isolation, and polarization of public discourse.Libraries need to break through the cocoon from the perspectives of algorithm intervention, user authorization and self-management,di-verse discussion guidance, and reader algorithm literacy cultivation,in order to promote the rational utilization of genera-tive artificial intelligence.
