The Development of Data Librarians in the Transformation Period of University Library Services
This paper probes into the current situation of functional transformation of university libraries under the background of rapid development of information technology and increasingly diversified academic demands,and reviews the historical evolution of the role of university librarians,reveals the evolution of their functions from traditional resource construction librarian to embedded subject librarian and finally to data librarian with scientific research data management as the core,focuses on the importance and key role of data librarian in the management,analysis and sharing of scientific research data,and expounds the differences between the functions of data librarian and subject librarian,clarifies the core responsibilities of the emerging role of data librarian,and further discusses how the data librarians promote the deep transformation and development of university library functions through technological innovation and personalized service in the era of big data and open science.
