An Interpretation of "Comparative Literature in the Age of Multiculturalism:An Introduction"
In 1993, Charles Bernheimer, chairman of the ACLA, following the routine, issued the third 10-year reform of this as-sociation,"Comparative Literature at the Turn of the Century", i. e.,"Bernheimer Report"①, which gave rise to a wide range of a-cademic discussion. In 1994, Bernheimer collected relevant views on this report and the whole three reports, and wrote"In-troduction:The Anxieties of Comparison"for this book. This pa-per mainly interprets this introduction.
