With the increasing demand for high-quality education,teachers'professional development has be-come an important issue in the field of higher education.Therefore,it is urgent and necessary to carry out in-depth teaching research and promote teachers'professional level.As a new type of teaching research model,project-based teaching research is of great significance in activating the motive force of teachers'professional de-velopment.In the practice of professional development of English teachers from a private university in Guizhou province,the scientific paradigm of"teaching-seminar-teacher training"for teaching research can be con-structed by means of the method of project-based teaching research,this will effectively promote the professional growth of university teachers,and provide more growth opportunities and development space for them.
