This study mainly used the behavioral event interview method to conduct in-depth interviews with 22 rural teachers in a certain city.Using the coding method of grounded theory,a teaching competency model for ru-ral teachers in the intelligent era was constructed,which includes:the concept and motivation of intelligent teach-ing,the mastery and application of intelligent teaching technology knowledge,the organization and evaluation of intelligent teaching,and the improvement of intelligent teaching.The research has found that there are significant deficiencies in the teaching competency of rural teachers in China's intelligent era.Rural teachers should estab-lish the correct concept and motivation of intelligent teaching,continuously enhance their knowledge reserves and skills in mathematics and intelligence,continuously improve their organizational ability in intelligent teaching,strengthen teaching evaluation,and increase the training efforts in intelligent education.
