With the development of globalization and the advancement of the Belt and Road construction,Chinese medicine is gradually present to the world.Accurate and appropriate translation of Chinese patent medicine in-structions can help foreign patients understand the drug efficacy,which is conducive to the expansion of overseas Chinese medicine markets and the spread of Chinese medicine culture.From the perspective of the text typology,taking the instructions of Modified Carefree Pills as an example,this study explored the theory and method more suitable for the translation of the instructions from drug name,actions and indications,and precautions.That is,when translation,it is necessary not only to focus on the accuracy of the information in the instructions,but also to produce an inspirational effect in a way expected by the target language readers,so as to promote the drug con-sumption and drive the sales of Chinese medicine products.
