Dynamic assessment,which is rooted in sociocultural theory,is different from traditional static assess-ment.It focuses on the learner's Zone of Proximal Development(ZPD).In recent years,the role of dynamic assess-ment in foreign language assessment has become increasingly prominent.On the basis of systematically explain-ing the core concept of dynamic assessment,this paper analyzes the differences between dynamic assessment and static assessment,and reviews the relevant research at home and abroad,in order to point out the direction for later research.
