This article explores the positive aspects of ChatGPT as a tool for aesthetic education and its theoreti-cal reflection as a means of aesthetic education through theoretical research on aesthetic education in universities in the context of ChatGPT.ChatGPT can provide participants with a wide range of knowledge and information,broaden learners'horizons and cognition,and provide personalized and flexible learning methods.Through inter-active communication with ChatGPT,participants can understand different artistic styles,genres,and historical backgrounds,thus better understanding and appreciating artworks,and even participating in secondary creation.However,due to limitations in its design and algorithm,ChatGPT's application in aesthetic education also has certain limitations,such as the strong limitations of the answers and opinions it provides.We should treat the ap-plication of ChatGPT in aesthetic education in universities dialectically,which requires teachers to provide rea-sonable guidance and screening during the application process,bringing new possibilities to aesthetic education in universities.
