In order to verify the two questions of whether the development of digital economy helps to upgrade the industrial chain and propel a country up the global value chain and under which financial structure the digital economy contributes more to a country's rise in the global value chain,the paper chooses the panel data of 60 countries from ADB-MRIO database from 2007 to 2021 to conduct empir-ical tests.The study shows that the development of digital economy has a positive effect on the rise of a country's global value chain,and improving R&D innovation capabilities and reducing trade costs are important channels for it.This paper further examines the effect of financial structure in the process of digital economy development driving the upgrading of global value chain status,and finds that market-oriented financial structure is more suitable for the promotion and development of digital economy on the rising status of a country's global value chain.
