The Impact of Regional Public Brand Certification on Chinese Food Export Listed Companies'Markup——An Empirical Study Based on the Multi-period DID Model
Based on the data of listed companies in China from 2008 to 2022,this paper constructs a multi-time difference-in-differ-ences model to empirically test the effect and mechanism of regional public brand certification on the price markup of Chinese food ex-port companies. The results show that:Regional public brand certification significantly improves the price markup of Chinese listed food export companies.Regional public brand certification shows heterogeneity in the improvement of the price markup of Chinese listed food export companies. For industries with higher product heterogeneity and enterprises with lower publicity level, regional public brand certification leads to more price markups of listed export food companies. From the perspective of quality information asymmetry, this paper provides new evidence for playing the role of regional public brands in improving the export performance and product competitive-ness of agricultural enterprises, improving the level of export profits of enterprises, and realizing high-quality agricultural development.
