The urban-rural income gap has been a long-standing issue in China and has become one of the key points hindering further development.As an important driving force for social development,entrepreneurship provides sufficient motivations and feasible paths for narrowing the urban-rural income gap and achieving common prosperity.The empirical analysis based on panel data of prefecture-level cities in China from 2003 to 2021 shows that entrepreneurship and its spatial spillover effects can significantly narrow urban-rural income gap,and this conclusion remains robust when replacing the explained variable and spatial weight matrix.The entrepreneurship will narrow urban-rural income gap through employment effects and industrial structure optimization effects.The spatial indirect effect of entrepreneurship is greater than the spatial direct effect,promoting the flow and allocation of elements.In the future,the stimulation and protection of entrepreneurship shall be strengthened in order to support high-quality development and achieve the goal of common prosperity steadily.
