Research on the Path of Foreign Direct Investment to Enhance the"Bottleneck"Industrial Technology Capability
The key core technologies of China are restricted by other countries,and there is an urgent need to enhance the"bottle-neck"industrial technology capability.Based on the panel data of 30 provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)in China from 2013 to 2022,the article focuses on the impact of FDI on the"bottleneck"industrial technology capability.The research shows that FDI can effectively enhance the"bottleneck"industrial technology capability,and the conclusions remain valid after robustness tests.FDI enhances the"bottleneck"industrial technology capability with regional and temporal heterogeneity,and the intensity of its role is higher in the west of the Hu's line than that in the east of the Hu's line,and is higher in the south of the Yangtze River than that in the north of the Yangtze River;and it gradually weakens from 2013-2015,2016-2018 to 2019-2022.The mechanism test shows that FDI enhances the"bottleneck"industrial technology capability by upgrading service levels and increasing education inputs.Based on this,the paper puts forward targeted policy revelations to provide a theoretical basis and practical guidance for China to break through the"bottleneck"dilemma.
