Research on the Impact of Digital Economy on the Green and Low-Carbon Circular Development Taking Cities along the Yellow River Basin as an Example
The digital economy has gradually become a key driving force for cities to achieve green and low-carbon circular develop-ment.Based on the panel data of 9 provinces along the Yellow River Basin in China from 2015 to 2021,this paper empirically tests the driving mechanism and effects of digital economy on the green and low-carbon circular development of cities by using benchmark regres-sion model, mediation model and machine learning-random forest model. The results show that:the digital economy can significantly promote the green and low-carbon circular development of cities;technological innovation plays an mediation role in the impact of the digital economy on promoting the green and low-carbon circular development of cities;the impact of digital economy on the green and low-carbon circular development of cities along the Yellow River Basin is the most critical, and its driving role presents a nonlinear characteristics of"inhibition-growth-inhibition".Based on this, the paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to tap the po-tential of digital economy development and optimize the environment for technological innovation to improve the efficiency of green and low-carbon circular development.
