Preparation of Polypropylene-Quartz Sand-Graphite Ternary Composites and Research on Their Properties
With SiO2 and graphite as fillers and polypropylene(PP)as the matrix, after they are mixed by mechani-cal milling, heated into slurry at high temperature and molded,PP-SiO2-graphite(PSG)composites are prepared. This paper tests the compressive strength and surface resistivity of composites, and studies the effect of the content of quartz sand and graphite on the properties of PSG.The results show that the addition of graphite can improve the conductivity of PSG,and the surface resistivity of PSG is 1.9×108 Ω when the content of graphite reaches 14%,which has anti-static properties, and that the compressive strength of PSG increases first and then decreases with the addition of quartz sand, and the compressive strength of PSG reaches a maximum value of 73 MPa when the con-tent of quartz sand is 65 wt%,which is almost 1.3 times higher than that of PP-graphite composites.
