The slope plays a crucial role in the safety of road engineering.Through engineering examples,based on the analysis of the reasons of the damage of the shallow cutting slope of expansive soil on a road in Chenzhou,and combined with the action principle of supporting blind drains and the herringbone skeleton of the slope surface that has not yet been completely damaged,this article proposes a treatment plan of"supporting blind drains + undam-aged herringbone skeletons+retaining walls at the foot of the slope".Compared with other treatment plans,it is more economical and easier to construct with obvious protection and drainage effects,and it can serve as a reference plan for other types of projects.
