Data mining,as a technology to extract useful information from large-scale data sets,has been widely used in various fields.As the foundation of data mining,probability theory and mathematical statistics provide a range of powerful tools and methods for analyzing and interpreting patterns and associations in data.This paper dis-cusses the combined application of probability theory and mathematical statistics in data mining,analyzes specific ap-plication cases in many fields,and combines the actual cases of the smart home system,the social network and the medical field to demonstrate the great potential and value of the integration of the two,so as to provide a reasonable and feasible methodology for researchers and practitioners.
