Evaluating the Protection Efficiency of a New Air-Termination System for Wind Generator Cabins
In order to solve the problems of the limited application of the rolling ball method and the complex structure and distribution of the protected object in the evaluation of the protection efficiency of the air-termination system of the composite cabin of the wind generator, this paper establishes the numerical models of two air-termination design schemes in combination with the characteristics of the lightning environment in the wind farm, calculates electric field distribution under the conditions of multiple pilot starting positions, and compares the protection effect of the two design schemes from three key influence factors:the surface electric field, the adhesion area and the equal potential coverage area. Results show that this method can evaluate protection efficiency more accurately, and effectively support the fine design of lightning protection for complex systems.
