Research on the Vertical Vibration Response of the Soil Mass of End-Bearing Piles in Layered Unsaturated Soil
Objective To study the vertical vibration response of the soil mass of end-bearing piles in layered un-saturated soil.Method A model box of layered unsaturated soil and a model pile of the end-bearing pile were made respectively to analyze the vertical vibration response of the soil mall of end-bearing piles in layered unsatu-rated soil.Result With the increase of the saturation of unsaturated soil,the frequency response of the displacement of the end-bearing pile top gradually increased,the frequency response of its dynamic stiffness gradually decreased,and the frequency response of its dynamic damping ratio gradually increased;with the decrease of the thickness ra-tio of the upper and lower soil layers of layered soil,the frequency response of the displacement of the end-bearing pile top gradually increased,the frequency response of its dynamic stiffness gradually decreased,and the frequency response of its dynamic damping ratio gradually increased.Conclusion The lower the saturation of layered unsatu-rated soil and the greater the thickness ratio of its upper and lower soil layers,the more conducive it is to reducing the vertical vibration response of the soil mass of end-bearing piles.
