Analysis of the Indicative Significance of Groundwater for Uranium Prospecting in the Northern Songliao Basin
The northern part of the Songliao Basin is an important uranium mining area in China, and groundwater provides effective information for regional uranium prospecting. In this study, groundwater is taken as the research object, groundwater samples from different locations in the northern Songliao Basin are collected and measured.By analyzing the uranium content in the samples, this paper attempts to explore the possible relationship between the uranium content in groundwater and the degree of surface uranium vein exposure. The results show that the ura-nium content in groundwater is closely related to the spatial distribution of uranium deposits. The uranium content in groundwater is also higher in areas with more uranium ore veins, and vice versa. In addition, the radial flow of groundwater can reflect the direction of uranium vein extension, thus helping to determine the direction and scope of uranium exploration. At the same time, groundwater chemical property, such as pH and oxidation-reduction potential, also affects the dissolution and migration of uranium in groundwater to a certain extent, which provides more scientific basis for the search of uranium ore veins. Therefore, the groundwater in the northern Songliao Basin is of great significance for uranium prospecting. It is hoped that the research results can provide useful reference for uranium prospecting in the northern Songliao Basin and other similar areas.
