Verification and Parameter Analysis of a Simplified Model for Self Resetting Buckling Restrained Brace Based on ABAQUS
Buckling restrained brace is not prone to buckling under strong earthquakes and have excellent energy dissipation capabilities. They are now widely used in structures in high-intensity areas. However, its energy dissipa-tion mechanism leads to excessive residual deformation of the support after the earthquake, which is not conducive to the development of post earthquake repair work. Therefore,a self resetting system is added to buckling restrained brace to significantly reduce its residual deformation.Due to the unique"flag shaped"hysteresis model of self reset-ting buckling restrained brace, its model is complex and computationally intensive, making it inconvenient to apply to practical engineering problems. This article addresses the above issues by first establishing a simplified model of self resetting buckling restrained brace through the superposition of rod elements and nonlinear springs, and verify-ing the feasibility of the simplified model. On this basis, this article obtained the influence of various actual param-eter values on the bearing capacity and self resetting ability of self resetting buckling restrained brace through param-eter analysis.
