Taking a provincial road reconstruction project in a certain country as an example,the optimization planning and design strategies are systematically discussed in this paper.Through the in-depth analysis of route alignment design,including road cross-section,node analysis and plane design,the specific design optimization measures are proposed,and the key experiences and suggestions in old road reconstruction and extension are sum-marized combined with the actual measures and results of the project.Detailed strategies have been proposed in the aspects of geometric design optimization,traffic organization improvement,environmental protection and landscape promotion,to enhance road capacity,enhance traffic safety and promote the sustainable development of road envi-ronment.
