The Measurement of Cultural Distance between China and Southeast Asian Countries and Its Enlightenment to the Communication of Chinese Culture
Southeast Asia is an important part of the global communication pattern of Chinese culture and has distinct regional characteristics.According to Geert Hofstede's national cultural dimension data,it can be found that the six Southeast Asian countries and China have both similarities and differences in six cultural dimensions.The data measured by the cultural distance measurement formula of Kogut and Singh show that the cultural distance between the six Southeast Asian countries and China is generally closer,which has a significant impact on the dissemination pattern of Chinese culture in Southeast Asia and has also a certain connection with the distribution of Confucius Institutes in various countries.Attention should be paid to the study of differentiation when examining the dissemination and interaction of international language and culture.Cultural distance index and the different status of local Chinese cultural resources in Southeast Asian countries help scientific analysis of the demand for Chinese cultural input and summary of efficient communication models that adapt to local cultural characteristics.
