Study on the Relationship between Sino-European Bilateral Trade and Demand for Chinese Language Talents in Europe
Under the backdrop of unprecedented changes in the era,a stable China-European economic and trade relationship is crucial for maintaining the stability supply chain of China or even the global countries.International Chinese language education should cultivate talents to facilitate the development of China-European bilateral trade. This paper investigates the relationship between the trade structure of 12 European countries with China and their demand for Chinese language talents from a perspective of language economics. It is found that the demand for Chinese language talents in European countries in the field of export trade to China is greater than the demand for Chinese language talents in the field of import trade from China. In the field of export trade to China, the demand for Chinese language talents in European countries is mainly related to the export of high-end manufactured goods to China. In the field of import trade from China, the demand for Chinese language talents in European countries is mainly related to the import of industrial products from China, with the unstable demand for Chinese talents related to the import of low-end industrial products and relatively stable demand for Chinese talents related to the import of high-end industrial products.Based on those findings, this paper suggests providing differentiated supply of Chinese language education products based on regional countries, integrating Chinese language education in the field of trade and commerce in Europe with the local European Chinese language teaching standards, attaching importance to the economic value of Chinese language education in Europe, and focusing on the role of Chinese language in language management of multinational enterprises.
