Democratic Reform in Southwest China and the Cohesive Development of the Chinese National Community
Democratic reform is a comprehensive social transformation carried out by the Party and the state in the areas for ethnic groups in the 1950s,and it is the historical logical starting point for the formation of contemporary socialist ethnic relations.From the perspective of the historical development of the Chinese nation,democratic reform also promotes the cohesive development of the Chinese national community.The historical experience of the southwest region shows that democratic reform is a process of the old spatial division and inter-ethnic division and melting,which has adjusted the internal structure of the Chinese national community,enhanced communication and integration among various ethnic groups,and laid the foundation for the further development of the contemporary Chinese national community.
