A Discussion on the Management of Visits by Ancient Frontier Ethnic Groups and Overseas Envoys
Chinese history is jointly written by various ethnic groups, and the history of communication, exchange, and integration among different ethnic groups is long. Therefore, since the pre-Qin period, there have been institutions handling ethnic affairs and personnel engaged in ethnic language translation work.In addition,as a country of etiquette,China has been in communication and interaction with overseas ethnic groups since the Qin and Han dynasties. Therefore, the institutions that originally handled internal ethnic affairs also took on the responsibility of receiving overseas visiting envoys and assisting them in translating languages and other affairs.Systematically combing the history of the formation and development of ancient Chinese institutions dealing with ethnic affairs and translators is not only conducive to enriching the content of Chinese national culture, but also helps to provide historical and cultural support for the"the Belt and Road"initiative and the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
