The Influence of Different Instability Criteria on Slope Stability Using the Strength Reduction Method
In order to comprehensively understand the impact of different instability criteria on slope sta-bility analysis using the strength reduction method and address issues related to slope instability, this study conducted research on the influence of different instability criteria using the strength reduction finite element method on the stability of homogeneous soil slopes. The study was carried out on the ABAQUS fi-nite element software platform.Detailed analysis was performed on the differences in slope safety factors obtained using the strength reduction method under different instability criteria. The study also analyzed how variations in soil strength parameters affect slope stability under different instability criteria. The re-search results indicate that there are differences in the safety factors obtained using the strength reduction method under different instability criteria. However, the extent of these differences depends on the varia-tion of soil strength parameters within certain ranges.Additionally, changes in soil cohesion, internal friction angle,Poisson's ratio, and other parameters also influence the critical state of the slope, the de-velopment of the plastic zone, and the shape of the sliding surface.
