Analysis on Reducing Electricity Costs at Kunming Wastewater Treatment Plant Under Power Reform Policies
In a city, the operation of sewage treatment plants is directly related to the construction of civ-ic production.During the operation of sewage treatment plants, electricity costs account for 25%~35%of the operating costs depending on the processes used.Effective electricity cost management is crucial for saving on operating expenses. The new power reform policies have promoted energy saving and consump-tion reduction in sewage treatment plants. This paper analyzes the results of four typical sewage plants in Kunming over the past two years. In 2022,the main transaction mode was annual transactions, which ac-counted for 70%of total electricity consumption, while the remaining 30%was adjusted through monthly transactions.One-time bundled transactions provided an overall price advantage, saving a total of 1.49 million yuan in electricity costs compared to 2021,indicating significant cost-saving potential.Addition-ally,by leveraging transaction prices during low-water and flat-water periods and participating in electric-ity market transactions, electricity costs were reduced by 35%~45%compared to non-implementation scenarios. These relevant experiences provide valuable insights and serve as a model for the operation of sewage treatment plants.
