Study on the Influence of Linguistic Landscapes on Placeness of the Multiethnic and Tourist Regions:A Case Study of Shuhe Ancient Town
Language signs constantly construct the meaning of space,making it a"rich field of diverse historical and cultural relationships",thus presenting the unique placeness of the certain area.This study conducted a geographical semiotic analysis and content analysis on the language landscapes of Shu-he Ancient Town in Lijiang City.It examined the characteristics of the linguistic landscapes across five aspects:code preference,simplified or traditional characters,writing system,contextual placement,and vocabulary features.The results indicated that these features contribute to the unique placeness of the ancient town,reflecting its uniqueness and regionality in spatial dimensions,asense of history in temporal dimensions,and diversity in cultural dimensions.
