A Study on Direction Occurrence Process of the Verb-Directional Construction:Also on Determination of the Verb-Directional Construction's Syntactic Core
This paper divides verb-directional construction into three types:1)direction of action verb and directional verb are the same;2)direction of action verb and directional verb are not completely oppo-site;3)direction of action verb and directional verb are completely opposite.It is found that when action verb and directional verb have a direction occurrence process,direction occurrence process of verb-direc-tional construction is manifested as T or L,otherwise it is manifested as ZD,YD or O.On this basis,the paper proposes a different approach of determining the syntactic core of the verb-directional construction.
