The epidemiological investigation and analysis on affecting factors of primary teeth caries among 2-3 years old children in Shanghai Jiading district
Objective To investigate and analyze the impacting factors of primary teeth caries among 2-3 years old children in Shanghai Jiading District,and to provide evidence for prevention and treatment of dental caries in preschool children,and reduce the prevalence of dental caries.Methods Cluster random sampling investigation was used to analyse the oral status including primary teeth eruption and dental caries of 582 children aged 2-3 years old in Jiading District,and the children' s oral health behavior and dietary habit were also recorded by their parents questionnaire survey.SPSS20.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Results The caries prevalence rate and caries means of 582 subjects were 48.45% and 2.21 respectively.There was significant difference in caries prevalence rate between male(50.00%) and female (46.81%) (P<0.001).The caries prevalence rate decrease with the increase of daily brushing teeth times (P<0.05).The cause of primary teeth caries was related to the feeding methods.The complete breast feeding caused the lowest prevalence rate of dental caries (39.55%),while those who were not breast fed got the highest prevalence rate (60.54%).Conclusion The prevalence rate of deciduous caries in childhood aged among 2-3 years old in Jiading District was very high.The related risk factors include the daily intake of sugar,brushing frequency and feeding pattems,and more effective measures should be taken to reduce the prevalence of dental caries for the children.
