Dental resin materials are one of the commonly used materials in the clinical work for dentists,but their mechanical properties,antibacterial properties and micro-leakage still need to be improved.As one of the main representatives of two-dimensional nanomaterials,montmorillonite has attracted the attention of stomatolo-gists for its unique crystal structure and physicochemical properties such as high strength,high modulus and high specific surface area.It is found that the addition of montmorillonite to dental resin materials such as composite fill-ing resin,resin base,and pit and fissure sealant can improve their comprehensive properties.Therefore,the applica-tion and progress of montmorillonite in dental resin materials has been reviewed in this paper in order to reveal novel nanocomposite resin materials with enhanced clinical applicability.
