Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease characterized by increased blood glucose, which often leads to abnormal bone metabolism, thereby increasing the risk of fracture and seriously affecting the process of tissue repair after bone defects in patients. How to promote the repair of bone defects in diabetic patients is an urgent clinical problem.Liraglutide is a new type of GLP-1 anti-diabetic drug, which has been widely used in the diabetes treatment. In recent years,a large amount of basic research and clinical evidence have shown that liraglutide can accelerate the repair of bone defects in diabetic patients by stabilizing systemic blood glucose levels, regulating bone metabolism, promoting angiogenesis, and modulating immune responses through various pathways. In this review,we will discuss the role of liraglutide in regulating bone metabolism, blood vessel formation and immune response as well as its mechanism of action and provide new ideas for the clinical use of liraglutide and the repair of bone defects in diabetic patients.
