Innovative talents in advanced dental medicine should be dentist-scientist who are armed with the knowledge and practical skills of clinical and translational research.In the past few years,the Department of Prosthodontics of the Airforce Medical University have taken several revolutionary measures to cultivate the clinical research ability of the professional postgraduates of prosthodontics.Taking full consideration of the primary purpose of professional postgraduation education,as well as the key characteristics of the discipline of prosthodontics,we adopted an early-initiated,standardized-training focused,teamwork-based,interest-driven,multiple-discipline interacted and multi-level-assessment assisted pattern of clinical research training among professional postgraduates of prosthodontics.After several years of practice and continuous improvements,significant achievements have been made in the training of advanced dentist-researchers who are well-prepared for the dental medicine practice of the new era.In the present article,we will share our experiences and confusions and explore possible measures to further promote the effectiveness of research training among professional postgraduate.
