Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics and sequential treatment for patients with congenital absence of eight premolars,and to provide some reference for the diagnosis and treatment of such patients.Methods:A total of 29 subjects of 8 premolars congenital absence were collected.The number and position of absence teeth,and existing dental development anomalies were recorded.Family history,past history and treatment history of each subject in the electronic medical records were inquired,and data were analyzed.Results:In our study group,the largest number of oligodontia was 8,with 13 subjects,accounting for 44.83%.The most common tooth agenesis pattern was agenesis of the combined first and second premolars.TAC values in each quadrant were concentrated at 31 and below.The subjects were accompanied by microdontia of the maxillary lateral incisors,delayed teeth development,and tooth ankylosis of deciduous molar.Conclusion:Clinically,congenital absence of eight premolars is rare and there are multiple tooth agenesis patterns.The diagnosis and treatment are complexed and treatment period is long,so it is necessary to develop individualized and multidisciplinary sequential therapy according to individual differences.
