Objective:To observe the clinical outcomes of concentrated growth factor(CGF)plus Bio-Oss bone powder for alveolar ridge preservation(ARP)after tooth extraction.Methods:Sixty-four patients who underwent single posterior tooth extraction at the Department of Stomatology of Aerospace Center Hospital between January and June 2022 were selected and randomly divided into observation(n=32)and control(n=32)groups.The observation group underwent minimally invasive tooth extraction followed by implantation of a mixture of CGF and Bio-Oss bone powder.Suturing was then performed using a CGF membrane. The control group underwent minimally invasive tooth extraction followed by direct suturing.Soft tissue healing was observed during follow-up visits at 14 and 28 days postoperatively.Cone-beam computed tomography was performed 1 week before surgery and 6 months after surgery to determine alveolar bone height and width for comparison and statistical analysis. Results:Two patients in the control group were lost to follow-up.Therefore,62 patients were included in the final analysis.Fourteen days postoperatively, the gingival soft-tissue wound healing index score was significantly lower in the observation group[5(4,6)]than in the control group[7(6,8);P<0.05].Twenty-eight days postoperatively, both groups had a wound healing index score of 4(4,4),suggesting no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Six months postoperatively, the alveolar bone height and width in the control group(8.05±1.83 mm and 6.11±1.72 mm,respectively)were significantly lower than the preoperative values(11.07±1.47 mm and 9.13±1.84 mm,respectively;P<0.05).In the observation group, the alveolar bone height and width(11.21±2.98 mmand9.34±1.70 mm,respectively)did not significantly differ from the preoperative values(11.75±2.54 mm and 9.45±1.60 mm,respectively;P>0.05).After surgery, the observation group had significantly higher alveolar bone height(11.21±2.98 mm)and width(9.34±1.70 mm)than the control group(8.05±1.83 mm and 6.11±1.72 mm,respectively;P<0.05).Conclusion:In ARP treatment after tooth extraction, the combined use of CGF and Bio-Oss bone powder, followed by CGF membrane coverage, can reduce inflammation, decrease alveolar bone resorption, and promote soft and hard tissue formation.
