A study on the Use of Public English Textbooks for Graduate Students and Relevance Study
Teaching materials are the visible heart of foreign language teaching.The selection of teaching ma-terials not only affect teachers'teaching,but also affects students'learning effect.In this study,questionnaire and semi-structured interview were used to investigate the use of the New Generation of College English(Development Section)(An integrated Course2)by 215 22-grade Non-English major graduate students in K University,and to explore the factors affecting their evaluation of teaching materials.The results show that:1)Students are extremely satisfied with the New Generation of College English(Development Section)(An integrated Course2)and recognize its practicability,but its application needs to be strengthened;2)Students'understanding of classroom attitudes and cognitive strategies can significantly positively affect their attitudes towards teaching materials.Based on the results,it is suggested that students who use the New Generation of College English(Development Section)(An integrated Course2)should change their traditional learning con-cepts and actively participate in classroom interaction,and teachers should select the correct contents of text-book,change their classroom teaching mode,strengthen the instruction of cognitive strategies and so on.
