Media supervision of the judiciary has legal and normative bases.Media supervision of the judiciary is beneficial to the implementation of the judicial responsibility system,is the result of strictly following the principle of judicial openness, and is an effective way to achieve judicial democracy. However, media supervision of the judiciary faces many practical challenges such as sensitive information leaks, false reporting, and"media trials".In order to leverage the media's supervisory role in the judiciary, institutional construction needs to be carried out from four aspects:firstly, establishing a mechanism for reviewing sensitive information;Secondly, establish a system for media supervision of live court hearings;Thirdly, smooth channels for interviewing and reporting on judicial cases; The fourth is to delineate the legal boundaries of media supervision of the judiciary.Through the construction of these four institutional aspects, the positive role of the media in judicial supervision can be better played, providing strong guarantees for the realization of judicial fairness, impartiality, and openness.
