A Study on the Correlation between the Quality of Chinese Second Language Writing and Lexical Features——An Argumentative Essay Based on Chinese and Non-Chinese Culture
In this study,the thesis titled"Pop Songs in My Eyes"of HSK Dynamic Composition Corpus was taken as the object,and the correlation analysis was adopted to compare and analyze the correlation between the composition quality,vocabulary diversity,complexity and vocabulary errors of students with Chinese and non-Chinese cultural backgrounds under this topic.The results showed that the vocabulary diversity was significantly correlated with the composition performance of students from both Chinese and non-Chi-nese cultural backgrounds.The complexity of vocabulary is highly correlated with the achievement of non-Chinese writing.By expand-ing the existing vocabulary features,we find that the number of word classes,total words,complex words and complex words in com-positions of Chinese and non-Chinese cultural circles are positively correlated with the composition scores.By means of stepwise re-gression method,the total number of words and the number of word errors are included into the effective parameters for predicting the writing performance of Chinese second language in non-Chinese cultural circle,among which the total number of words has a greater influence on the composition score.The number of word types and the number of word errors are included into the effective index to predict the score of Chinese second language writing in the Chinese character culture circle,among which the number of word errors has a greater influence on the score.
