Relationship between Mindfulness and Joy of Missing Out on Undergraduates:The Chain Intermediary Effect of Perceived Social Support and Ego Depletion
To explore the relationship between mindfulness and the joy of missing out among undergraduates and its underlying mech-anisms,a questionnaire survey was conducted among 703 undergraduates using the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale, the Perceived Social Support Scale, the Ego Depletion Scale, and a self-developed Joy of Missing Out Questionnaire for Undergraduates. The results indicated that mindfulness not only directly predicts the joy of missing out but also indirectly predicts it through perceived social support and ego depletion.Additionally, perceived social support and ego depletion play a chain intermediary role between mindfulness and the joy of missing out. This study provides a novel perspective for promoting the joy of missing out among undergraduates.
