Resilience is an essential concept in both ecology and sociology, reflecting the capacity of ecosystems and social systems respond to external disturbances.Combing the adaptability and transferability of systems, resilience provides a new perspective and framework for assessing ecological security and achieving sustainable development goals(SDGs).However, due to the complexity of ecological, social, and economic changes,it remains uncertain how resilience can be effectively utilized in assessments and SDG achievement. This study summarizes the characteristics and influencing factors of resilience to emphasizing the vital role of system characteristics in resilience.Based on the impact of resilience on ecological security and SDGs,we highlight that resilience can serve as both a key role and a pathway for enhancing and advancing these goals.Lastly, combining the features and advantages of resilience,we propose strategies for enhancing socio-ecological system resilience. These strategies mainly emphasize strengthening the self-repair and adaptive capacity of ecosystems at the natural level, enhancing social adaptability and collaborative actions at the societal level, and promoting green economies and sustainable resource management at the economic level. The findings provide a new theoretical perspective and practical approach for ensuring ecological security and achieving SDGs,as well as scientific evidence for policy formulation.
